Need advise on saving using the MPC 3000 and Motif

I need to know the best way to save beats and sequences using the MPC 3000 and Motif.

I just started using this set up and saving is a problem.
I have a SCSI drive in my 3000 that I save the drum sounds and sequences but as far as saving on the MOtif I have to keep a separate notebook and write down all the instruments I used as well as all the settings like volume and reverb and what instrument I used on what midi channel.

THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY!!

If you're usin the Motif keyboard, there should be a compact flash slot for you to save your stuff on. If you're usin the Motif rack, the all you need to do is hook up a USB compact flash reader/writer to it and save your stuff that way.

if you are using the motif you should save your insraments in pattern mode. I used to have the same setup and I actually sequenced my motif with its own sequencer cosidering its much better than the 3000 and just turned midi clock on so they wound play correctly together. something like a virus should be sequenced on a mpc, not a workstation. if you had 2 mpc's would you use one to sequence both?

So you are saying I should Have the Motif instruments on that sequencer and the MPC3000 instruments on that and then just have them sync ed together?

If this is correct how do I sync them? What are the settings?

can you elaborate? i borrowed a motif to mess with, and there are positives and negatives on both sequencers. motif has some conveniences, but i dont think i would say it's better. just different.

considering its 10 years newer im sure there have been advancements sence then. editing individual notes on the es is much easier. you can quickly see the notes on each track, change length, velocity, key, exact timing. you can also quickly loop remix which is a nice feature. I dont think anything on the 3000 cant be done on the motif. for me thats one of the best sequencers. the only problem is if you are sequencing multiple things it just has the one midi out. I think for sequencing internally theres no reason to use a 13 year old sequencer when you have a up to date one internally.
