can anybody give me advice which is the best way/programm to edit my mpc samples on pc? i heard about peak but i think it is only for mac?! i have an mpc3k and still my old 2000xl (which i gonna sell) i tryed to connect them two but it doesnt worked?.is it possible to send samples from a 3000 to 2000 and back?

Well, to use a computer with your MPC, the 2000XL is actually the better choice. It reads WAV files directly, so you save a big step in transfering sounds. The 3000 saves and reads only in Akai's SND format.

Once you have the sounds in WAV format, you can convert them back and forth from WAV to SND format to use them in either the XL or 3000.

But, you'll need software (MPC Editor and there's free program. Check. www.midicase.com) to do that. Cool Edit or Audacity (free) or any number of audio editing programs will give you what you need. Peak is sweet, but you can done what you need in any program really.

thanx a lot.the thing is i love this 3k sound, i just bought mines a few weeks ago and i think working again with my 2000xl is a step backwards(talking about the sound) but what i miss is to see the sounds/samples im going to cut/edit!so i thought doing it on pc is more comfartable!...

The MPC Editor is the tool u want for the MPC3000. You can drag and drop your wav files into the virtual pads and save the program. There is also an option to convert wavs within your program to .snd (akai format).

It a very easy program to use...i bought for about $35 and it's worth it if u prefer creating programs on PC.
