Yes.

To allow the existing power source that powers the floppy drive to instead, supply a ZIP drive.

It's the original power supply cable that feeds the floppy.

Hence the modification necessity.

Those pictures are OK.

Search the forum for other pictures in threads where people have fitted card readers as the power harness requirment are mostly the same.

This thread being a good example:

As you're asking. I suggest. Send it to a tech.

no need for that.

i just dont understand how its modded? i looked at it tonight and the cable just fits on perfect so why would it need modding?

No need for that ? If you don't "understand how it modded" then there is a risk of damaging drive/mpc by not knowing what you're doing.

So with this in mind.

Get a MULTI METER out.

Measure the line voltages on the FLOPPY POWER SUPPLY feed cable.

Mark them as measured.

Make certain the appropriate feeds are matched accordingly to the device you intend on installing.

no need to be criptic about it. this isnt mention in the zip tutorial, so i could of fukd the drive by just plugin it straight in

Not being cryptic.
Trying instead to make you think, learn and measure multiple times before cutting "wrong" once.

EG: MPC could get damaged too !
