Here's my technique to skip the taxes in Norway.

I'm thinking about the same myself, just with a 2500.

I've done this several times in Norway to great success (100%). Just attach a receipt that is way lower than the real amount you paid for the item, and it will skip all the taxes.

I just wonder if it is as easy as this in the EU countries. Anyone who have imported a MPC from the US to the EU and skipped all the taxes by adding a "fake" receipt?

I didn't do it. But, to get my records out of customs I phoned and emailed every contact point I could find. Some guy working for customs said they're not gonna check if the price on the receipt is correct. They just want some value attached to it, end of. This was a guy in customs that told me that. I haven't tried it myself.

The thing is also that you have to be careful with insured shipping. You can't really insure it for the amount the item is actually worth.
