I currently have a zip drive but would like to use compact flash. I'm wondering if a 3.5 inch drive for PC's will work. Any idea?

Assuming the READER you intend on using is a SCSI model that is compatible with the MPC3000 ...... maybe.

A topic done to death on this forum:

MPC3000's are SCSI HOST DEVICES.

They communicate with SCSI STORAGE DEVICES.

Your ZIP drive will be a SCSI type.

A card reader will have to be a compatible SCSI TYPE.

Here is a thread that covers fitting/installing card readers into an MPC3000:

http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=68300

If your MPC3000 already has a ZIP drive installed then half the work has been done for you already.

For you, fitting a card reader may simply be a case of sourcing and fitting one of the compatible models. ( removal of ZIP drive / fitting of compatible SCSI card reader drive / wiring harness mods already in place )

Use the forum search tool to find MANY answers/topics/threads concerning card readers and the MPC3000.
