Gain on 3k

hey,

if seen on picture's that most people got the gain on the back of the 3k on MID.. i found out mine was on LOW.. so i turned it to MID but everything sounds distorted like hell now lol
and no it dosnt clip in my screen


some help would be appericiated

sry by the way i just hit gain in the searchbar and found to much about it.

Another thing.. looks like my inputs are diff... right signal is louder then my left.

I keep mine on low, mid is alright for some samples, when on low you catch all of the dynamics of the sound.

Try it with a sound with a long tail (verbed live snare drum), it doesn't have the depth that you get when it's on low.

It does sound louder on mid or high but you lose the dynamics, i asked Rohan this question sometime ago and he made me do the test and that put me straight.

Sample on low, keep the dynamics of the sound then if you need that sound to be louder then pump it up with whatever.

The more headroom your sounds have the more they can breathe, learnt my lesson with my MPC 3000, and that is it don't like taking a sample to hot or you that harshness in your sample.
