Hey peeps,

Just bought a 3000 and wondered if you could help me with a few simple questions...

1) I have been using a 1000 and love it because everything works off the CF card i put in which is 4GB so its ideal for samples and saving projects onto. My question is with the 3000 is there any way i can get away from using the floppy disk drives and just have a CF card reader which i can have everything on but i would like the reader to be internal so i would ideally like to replace the drive on the front of the mpc 3000.

2) I seem to be missing the enter button at the top which is blue... is there any blue replacement buttons for sale because all i can seem to find is purple?

3) To get the latest OS how do i go about that? I see that there is a Mansell one available, is that what everyones using? If not what was the latest one that Linn / Akai made for the system?

Thanks peeps.

Yes.

Step one: Go to the seacrh funciton & type Internal and card reader which will result in this thread -

Step two: Buy a card reader :)

Although I only saw purple buttons, both sites claim they have many products not listed, so send them an email.

Yes.

Everyone who is serious about their 3K uses Vailixi 3.50

Here is my 3KLE with Vailixi 3.50 + Internal Card reader

To sum it up order Vailixi 3.50 first. Since you're coming from the 1K, the older OS's will be a rude awakening. Then type SCSI FOR SAMPLERS into google for a 3K compatible card reader. I would post the link, but unfortunately, "scsiforsamplers.com" appears when I try.
