Syncing The MPC 3000 to Sp-1200

I wanted to know how you sync the MPC 3000 with the SP.

I know how to trigger the SP sounds with the 3000 pads and sequencer

But I recently made a beat on the sp and wanted to snyc it to the MPC3000 so that I could add some midi keyboard bass lines and synth lines over it.

Please let me know.

This is from memory, so please bare with me...

First of all, connect the midi out of the 3k to the midi in of the SP.

On the SP:

Press the SYNC button then MIDI (2)

On the 3k:

Press the Tempo/Sync button

Press SYNC (soft key 1)

On the right side of the screen, turn midi clock on.

Thats it!

Also, don't forget to set both machines to the same midi channel.

On the 3k you can hit MIDI, then MMC to turn on midi machine control which will let the sp recieve the 3k's transport messages.
