Low Cut?

Hey Peeps,

Using a MPC 3000...I've got a snare which has a kick underneath it. How do i cut the Low off it so i looses the kick?

In that case what you need is a high-pass filter (only lets the high's "pass" through)

There is no high-pass filter on the MPC3000.

So what do you do when your snare has a kick underneath it?

Because its phasing with my main kick.

Record the sample without the bass-freqs.

I sample through my AKAI MFC42 analog filter. It has a very good high-pass filter and a good eq.
You could get that or an Electrix Filter Factory.
These filters are rack-mountable, and both have built in phono-preamps.
PERFECT for the MPC3000.

you could also eq it through your mixer
lower the bass before you sample the snare
and make sure you truncate it to get rid of the attack on the kick
but don't take all of the bass out though-leave a little so the snare will sound natural
