Hey there, I am new to the MPC 3000 club! As of today, proud owner of a mint-condition unit (at least that's what the seller claimed 
). I turned it on today for the first time to check its functions and some hardware aspects already give me trouble.
The backlight gives off a high-pitched whine that is really killing me. It is also pretty dim. Would putting in a new foil fix both of these problems reliably? I read up on this stuff on the forums, but couldn't find clear answers.
The jogwheel is also clearly worn out, it works reasonably well counter-clock wise but glitches all over the place clockwise unless I push it in a bit while turning. Can I expect this to deteriorate further? Any way to fix a jogwheel that behaves this way?
I am thinking about re-negotiating the price with the seller if these issues turn out to be really problematic, so I need your expertise.
