Jumperless TEAC 235HF?! can this be used in an mpc 60?

What up everyone, been reading forever on here but just finally joined. I'm trying to switch out a bad drive on my mpc 60, and I came across a TEAC 235HF floppy drive at an older computer shop. It has a brown circuit board, with almost no circuitry beneath it on the rear end of it. Looks pretty similar to the surefire editions others have posted before, just without any visible jumpers on the back or on the bottom of it either.




any ideas?

Umm, pop it in and see if it works?

It might not work without Jumpers but try it anyways.

after much toiling, it doesn't work. Just get the same FF80 Error or whatnot. I took it out, until another one comes up I'll just have to rely on the scsi hard drive I found from the same dude. There's just something wrong with paying 90$ for a floppy drive that's worth about 10$ tops, even it's in new condition.

save that money and put it towards the scsi upgrade. It;s not like you need to boot off floppies?

my fault peez, I was thinking about spectre, I think he has a flash drive for his MPC... you never did need it to boot, I was not saying that.

well fortunately the 60 I picked up came with the scsi upgrade as well as the 3.10 OS, no memory upgrade though. The same place I came upon that jumperless teac I found two scsi hard drives as well as a zip and a jazz. They gave me everything they had, saying it was going to get thrown out anyway even though it was all in perfect condition. Now, I guess the real idea should be trying to daisy chain the scsi port to make one of those other drives internal. I have heard negative things about each (the zip and jazz) as well as positive, so I don't know. Can this even be done? It would be pretty cool, much better than finding some scrap metal to cover the hole on the front of my mpc.
