Is There a Way To Change the "Gen Midi" Name Assignments?

I recently bought a R8MKII.

I'm triggering the sounds & sequencing with my MPC3000.

I have it setup so that both machine's pads & note assignments mirror each other exactly.

Problem is... when i hit any particular MPC pad, not only does it play the sound that I assigned on the R8MKII, but it will trigger the "Gen Midi" sound as well... like a Wood Block, Mute Triangle, etc...

I tried messing with Local On/Offs, Soft Thru, etc...

Any Ideas?
