Share your knowledge on these two classic MPCs

Hello,

I've been trying to transfer files between my computer and my 3K (OS 3.5) for a while now, and found that the best way is to use Awave to convert the files to the 3k's format and copy them to a partition on my CF card. However, some of the files, programs as well as single snd's, do not load on the MPC and I can't imagine why, because most of them load up as they should.

Any ideas? this is extremely frustrating. Perhaps I should spring for the mpc pgm maker?

I use the AWAVE STUDIO program and export directly to a hybrid partition on the CF.

My 2K/XP OS is registry patched to disallow LFN directory entries.

I always follow the 8.3 naming rules.

Never have any problems.

So.

Where the files that "don't" load are concerned...

"What" error does the MPC3000 display while attempting to load these "non loadable types"

Which Hybrid Partition "size" did you select ?

Rohan.

Rohan Hi,

"What" error does the MPC3000 display while attempting to load these "non loadable types"

After checking it out again I have noticed that one pgm for instence loads half way and then I get an "attention!" header with nothing on the screen but the exit function, and it does not load. Several other programs have samples that load but refuse to play, and when I tried loading one such specific snd, I have received no errors but it did not play, same as before.

Which Hybrid Partition "size" did you select ?

32mb if I recall correctly.

I use the AWAVE STUDIO program and export directly to a hybrid partition on the CF.

It took me a long time to figure out how to do this, maybe I'm doing something wrong in Awave? I create a new instrument, put the wavs in it, and convert as a drum pgm. The part that confused me was where I need to assign notes to the samples. When I set it to assign them continuesly from B0 onwards, not all of the samples get converted. My solution was to use a higher note, and that does work. Maybe this proccess is faulty in some way that causes these problems?

Can you maybe explain what all this means? I think my naming was fine, mostly random 8 characters with the occasional blank space. But what are LFN directory entries?

Thank You

8.3=pretty sure it means 8 characters-no spaces.SND

if all else fails just sample into the 3K and get some of that good A/D conversion that we love so much..that goodness!
