Ratteling Chassis?

I've started noticing a very annoying noise when I hit the pads, like the whole front panel is ratteling. This is somewhat rectified when I press down firmly with my finger in the middle of the panel.

Any way of fixing this? Any other 3K users suffer from this?

yo i had the same thing with one of my 60's...as i first opened it up for a disk drive and backlight fix i saw that the guy from which i had bought the machine unscrewed lots of the screws on the bottom which connects the pcb's to the mpc's housing....so i suggest you to take a screwdriver and tighten all the screws on your machine...i think this will fix your problem and the only strange sound coming outta your mpc is the backlight inverter =:) but like i said im no 3000 user but i think it's the same thing and i know that is really annoying when making beats

I've installed the 3.50 OS a few months back, but I don't remember any screws from the bottom in Rohan's guide.

I guess I should open it up and poke around. Anybody else with this problem? are all your 3K's silent when hitting the pads?

Things that could be rattling when pads are hit.

1: Pad chassis assembly retainer plate. ( check that it is screwed in correctly )

2: Chassis case to top panel stand off/load support bracket in the machine centre. ( check that is screwed in correctly )

3: Other rattles ? Check all parts that screw down for correct tension.

Where is that? do you mean where the chasis meets the top panel along the sides of the machine?

If you open the machine, said support bracket should be located inside, in between the main board and output boards, or there about.

It provides upward pressure to the pad sensor chassis when the lid is closed.

Should have a piece of felt or rubber on the top of it.

Won't be too hard to find.

Someone told me the other day that you shouldnt open up these classics machine since we are all stupid and will only make it worse..... strange thing is that it is the same guy saying here you should open it... mr. twofaced

Well, in the case of "FLEXTONE".
He is skilled at opening and working on his machine.
As a Vailixi user he is in possession of detailed machine opening instructions.
"FLEXTONE" managed to install his OS upgrade chips without issue.
So I am sure he'll be able to operate a screw driver for the purpose of tightening a few loose screws.

Where non tech types are concerned, the warning announcement by "64hz" hold true.

Death/damage to machine or self as a result of inability where technical repairs and maintenance are concerned; is more often than not, a sad reality.

When in doubt, seek assistance or hand the job over to some one who knows what they are doing.

I was just cleaning my MP today and banged on the pads and also noticed a rattleing sound. I took a look inside and everything looked cool, then I remebered about this post. Read Rohan's advice and took another look, the supprot bracket was secure, but then I noticed The pad retainer plate was loose, so I took a screw driver to it, but it turns out that the screw was already tight enough, the part where the screw goes in came apart from the retainer plate. Looked like it was welded on, I was thinking about using JB weld or an epoxy.
Any suggestions
