VST or Forat ?

I need a couple things fixed on the 3000 I just got . Here's the list :

- Soft Key 1 (I've got to press it pretty hard to make it work)
- the down cursor button (maybe all 4)
- a new backlight
- pad sensors (pads 1,2 & 3 aren't as responsive as the others)

I see a lot of people talking about sending their MPC's to both spots . Who's dealt w/ these companies and what do you think .

+1 for Forat.

He will probably tell you what else needs to be fixed. Whatever he says is wrong, you will probably wish you just went ahead and got it done all at once.

Hey forat I just Got mine back. I had a 3000LE I just wanted internal ship and wood on the sid panels. He called me and asked which wood would I like and sent me pics of both of them on there and then I choose which one. They did maintence on all my buttons for a very small fee(Bruce) and the ones he found That were not working beside the ones I found he told me and replaced. The backlight was dem but you could still see and he recommended me to change and I can see a whole lot better. Forat is the best chose oh yea he also sent me a picture of it when it was done so i got before and after.

Never done any biz wit VST... so i cant really review em as far as service...

But on tha other Hand I sent my 60 to Bruce @ Forat and he was on that same professionalism tip as Rohan!

big ups to tha both Rohan and Bruce!

if i ever had a serious problem wit my SP, 60 or 3K that i couldnt fix myself, off ta Forat my baby(ies) would go...

give Bruce a call, see what he has ta say hes very helpful. tell him you were recommended by tha MP forum

however replacement buttons like soft keys and cursors maybe easier found at VST (not sure jus a thought in tha dark)

Gotta show vst some love!!! they done great work on my 3kle-black pads, back light, scsi fuse, a few new buttons. They were timely although i will say that they charged me $45 bucks to get right in as they were backed up. I could have been patient or i could have been had for an extra $45. It's hard to tell if they were really that backed up from this side of the country!!!!! either way the work was fine. I'd definitely use their services again

Ive used both, and both are great, but Bruce at Forat is more personable & will call you when hes working on it. You might pay more but you get a good feeling hes handling your MP with care and has years of knowledge. Not that VST doesn't, its just that Forat wins in Customer Service.

Not sure how handy you are with a soldering iron, but those are all some cheap and easy fixes.

The tact switches are available online really cheaply, just search the forum for the part number. This will get your buttons fixed. They are only 2 solder points each.

The backlight is also two solder points to replace.

Pads sensors drop right in.

You could fix this machine with an hours work and not much more than the price of shipping. All these repairs have been discussed thoroughly on this forum.

That being said, you can't lose with Forat or VST. I have had good experiences with both. It would seem that paying $45 to jump ahead in line isn't fair to the person paying $45, or the other people waiting in line??? I've never heard of that before though.

Definitely going w/ Forat . I emailed both for estimates and Bruce got back to me in a hour or so . VST still hasn't hit me back . Customer service is where it's at .
