Why Is This Happening In My MPC3000? Is It Broken?

Hi, ok i have this kit loaded and this shaker sample i have set to the 3/4 stereo output. When i play the sample it kinda changes the way it sounds and attack a bit like its enveloping up and down or something constantly. Its like the sample is sounding closed then open then closed then open ect. Its not staying the same the way it should and i have it set to Full velocity no matter how hard i hit the pad and no other samples are doing this. Why is this happening? Does anybody know why or have you had this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is totally ruining my track.

Check if the note variation slider is on.
Next, check if the channel of your mixer that is connected to those outputs is full of dust. Just try cranking the gain on the mixer for a second to make the channel *plopp* if thats the issue..

Hey. no the variation slider isnt on and its not dust. I just did a test and only when i use a stereo sound for some reason the sound constantly envelopes up and down slightly and enough for you to notice it. I tried every channel mono and it worked with no problems. Im really stumped here. Can somebody please help me out.?

Insert about 20ms of dead space to the end of the sound and about 7ms to the front.

Now use the best start option at a threshold of 1% to reposition the sample start.

All should now be well.

look in the manual under insert temp to zone in the section on the sound edit screen while you wait, it's a great thing to know about.

HI, thanks for the pdf i read it. Call me stupid but i tried what the manual said to add those 20 and 7 ms to the start and end and it didnt work the sample got all messed up and its getting kinda frustrating. Im not very experienced on the mpc but i can do most things but this isnt working out for me. Would somebody be able to explain it to me in laymans terms for a dummy like me please? I really want to start this track already and im getting no where.


elmacaco, last time you gave me some great help with the arranging different parts of mty songs and i did it no problem. Can you explain this in those same laymans terms for me to understand?
