Rinsed my pads and now have better accuracy

My pads had been stiff and sometimes misrepresented velocities.

Here is a picture of the part I need to remove. The thin green part and the silver metal part. The redish brownish board is conencted to the silver metal part and comes off with it.

pad sensor once i pealed away the grey rubber pads. There is a thin film /residue. I think the thin film is corroded rubber due to friction from striking the pad.


I rinsed the rubber pad under water and used a q-tip to go around the squares which got rid of filth. Then i put a paper towel down and one on top and pressed the paper towel into the grooves. Waited until it was dry then reinstalled. Pads feel softer and I have greater accuracy for velocity, and this took me about 2 hrs to do .

my pads are quite hard too. When I get a new screen I'll open it one final time and give the sensors a scrub then never again!

The MPC 60 is one of the best stashes around....plenty of room and you can leave the screws out and it opens and closes as easy as the front door

I would be careful about vigourously scrubbing the sensor because it could ruin the sensors.

I was wondering if a little bit of rubbing alchohol, and water would get rid of that thin film on the sensors. I can't brush off the thin flim with a dry rag, but i can scratch it off with my nail. any idea how to get that stuff off?

As far as the rubber pads...you can use a dime size drop of dish washing liquid and warm water. Its does magic in revitalizing/removing the dirt/grime on those rubber pads.

This works great on white shoe strings as well

How'd you open the bitc with the panels on? Did you put those baby's on just for show???

the side panels don;t have to come off to pop the hood. just the two screws under the sidepanels on each side.

I only pulled the side panels off the first time I popped it open, the first day i got the 60, to clean the pads
