This time a faulty 60 Mk1. It has OS 3.1 but not sure what other upgrades.

Unfortuantely it doesn't have a power lead so I can't assess its damage/faults properly until I get a power lead. :x

I just wanted to know if anyone had that lead for sale *FOR A UK MODEL*. The 60 has only a 2 pin socket in its back panel rather than the more common 3 pin IEC plug (like on a Mk.2) which is why I'm struggling to find one.

any ideas?

Damnit, I just asked the dude what shipping costs were to the Netherlands. After someone asked me if I had interest in a free collection of old lp's I totally forgot about the auction :(

Anyways, congratulations. You deserved to win as you opponent fell asleep before bidding

8)

Another interesting fact was that it was owned by the producer of old acid house/rave band Altern8!

....so anyone got the power lead?

I don't know Altern8, but I'll see if I can find some Acid of them ;)

I'm not sure why I should try to help you as I completely missed out on this 60 but hey, could you post a photo of the two pin socket?

Try Turnkey on Charing Cross Road, their getting rid of old stock at the moment and I've seen two-pin cable going for £2.

 you lot! I quite like that old rave sound. Def some musical merit there.

Turnkey aren't listing those kind of power leads on their site (probably not worth their while)

Interesting that Altern8 got categorized as "Acid" ...

More RAVE/BREAKBEAT/HOUSE/TECHNO circa early to mid 90's ( for the sake of categories ).

I've got quite a few of their tracks ( well ... the few they did ) on records in an old crate some where at home ...

Going to go dig them out now :-)

some of the best underground dance music that was ever produced. i posted up the videos for the "pump up the volume" documentary a few months back in the off topic forum. search and see if those links still work. it's definitely worth watching. i remember all those tunes like it was yesterday.

my boy runs an internet radio show at http://www.stressfactorrecords.com/
check it out. tons of good tunes there. :D

Have a look on the Turnkey web site under the clearance or B-stock pages. If you still can't find the cable then give them a call. I was there last saturday and I saw a load of them in their clearance section.

turnkey are pure jokes, i wouldnt waste my time with those gafflers. there must be somewhere better online - maplins?

the altern8 lot did more acid-y stuff under pseudonyms, fooled the poncey underground crowd at the time and exposed it for the fickle pretentiousness it was

I phoned turdkey up and they didn't want to know as per usual.

however further research resulted in:

http://www.leadsdirect.f9.co.uk/files/I ... 0Types.pdf

So it looks like I'm after an IEC C9 to standard UK 3 pin mains plug.

Unfortunately these are illegal to sell in the UK :x as they don't have an earth!!!

the search goes on

Studiospares have a cable that might be what you are looking for.
Presumably the same as for the Akai S950.
You should give them a call and check it's the right one before you order.

Hope it works out.
