a few questions form a proud new owner

hey whats up guys.. I had a 2000XL and had to get rid of it... and yesterday i saw a 60 II in a pawn shop and just had to had it!!!! its seems really solid and i love that 12 bit sound, but n I have a few questions

how do i change quantization and swing settings??? cannt seem to find it in the manual..

when i load the sounds i sampled up into certain pads, they are panned (like tom 1 is all the way to the left).. thats pretty cool, but can i get rid of this??? i want to pan the drums on my own

why cant i load up the samples from my PC (im using awawe studio to convert wavs to snd files).. I convert them, and then save em to a floppy... but the MPC says something about the disk not being formatted... and when i format it in the mpc, then my PC doesnt recognize it... weird stuff

and last but not least.... if i assign the samples to the pads as i like, can i save that somehow so i dont have to reload the samples individually every time????

Congrats on your purchase.

To change your quantize settings just hit the Timing Correct button and adjust from there.

You need to change your Drum Mix settings to fix the panning.

The easiest way to get samples from your PC to an MPC60 is to just sample them but you could also convert .wavs to MPC3000 format and load them into the machine if your MPC has OS version 3.

Just save the .set or save as an all file for saving/loading your programs.

Did you ever use the 2000 you had???????
Download the manual for the O.S. your 60 has and it will take care of all the very simple questions you asked as well as future ones.

2wice is there a way to load samples form pc if i dont have the os 3???

i talked then down from 799 to a buck fitty in MINT condition.. they had it for about 7 months and just wanted to get rid of it

i also got an e-mu proteus 2000 for 80 bux, but the damn thing dont work at all

i still thought it was a pretty nice deal

Well since you have Awave and the older OS on the MPC maybe you could convert the files with Awave and them use the sample dump feature to transfer to the MPC. If your'e using anything better than a sound blaster 16 then the best option is to sample them from the PC. It's a fact they sound better like that.

Still not bad at $230 (since the Proteus didn't work).
Now add the $437 for the O.S. and SCSI and that's $667 or $587 if you can sell the Proteus.
Then another $127 if you want the memory.
Put's you pretty close to the going rate for an expanded 60, so even with the main to upgrades you will be in the correct price range.

Even with Awave you need the V3 O.S., which means you might as well use the MPCeditor.

can some one tell me how to set a sampling time to less then a second???

i saw that i had it at 0.5 sec at one point of time, but cannt repeat it now////??

type in .5 with the number buttons.
