3.10 OS or memory expansion for my 60II?????

fam,

i'm debating whether i should get the 3.10 OS or memory expansion for my 60II. currently, i am running the 3.01 OS.

pro's?
con's?

i really need the memory, but how much better is getting the 3.10 compared to my current 3.01?

yea, it's an odd one, but thats what i have.

the guy that sold it to me said its sorta similar to the 3.10 OS. i've never used the 3.10, so i dont know what to expect.

SO when you power up the MPC it says 3.01 OS? and not 3.10 OS?

Damn that must be a late model mpc60 II. Can you sample something assign it to a pad and then go back and sample something else or does your sound disappear that you sampled first? Can you even change your pads from Poly Mono Note Off?

i am able to sample different sounds with out it being deleted. i have a tolta of 13 seconds split into 4.5 second sample banks. i am also able to change pads from poly to mono and vice versa.

i'll take a pic of my boot screen indicating the 3.01 OS to show to you guys later tonight...

how do you rock your drums or basslines without a filter???? that is like a most needed tool.

Wow that is **** dope! You don't even really need the 3.10 OS then cause everything that the 3.10 OS has that is dope you probably already have that's crazy.

well, the 60's don't have a filter. which why i use a s900 for this. unless, the 3.10 OS allows this?!?!

anyone out there know the exact difference between 3.01 vs. 3.10 OS?

does your 60 have scsi installed? you may have to open it up to see...

os version 2.14 shipped with scsi installed, but wasnt implemented in the software until os version 3.10e IIRC... check it out and if you have it installed and cant utilize the scsi interface hardware, then that would be really the only reason to upgrade to 3.10e...

unfortunately, there is no scsi on my MPC.

You can cop the scsi from roger linn website.
