MP 60 SCSI? Please Help

Hi...Does anyone know the exact type of zip drive I have to buy for my MP 60 to hook up in the back? I dont wanna buy one of ebay that won't work..Thanks! ( I can't use the search function, it doesn't work for me)

I use an Iomega Zip 100 w/ my 60. Make sure you get one that has SCSI, not parallel, and try to get the SCSI cable and power supply included. I got mine for $30 incl shipping on ebay. Pick some zip discs up off of ebay while you're at it, they're hared to find new (found a pack of 10 at Microcenter a few months ago--$100...later ).
There are other SCSI drives that work, but the Iomegas seem to be the most common and mine's held up pretty well.

ok thanks...now i have one that is broken but it has 2 ports in the back...one for the computer/mpc 60 and another for a printer? is that considered to be parallel? what should I look for exactly to make sure its not parallel? Also, I just bought zip disks from Office Max...are they ok to use or do I need older ones? or a specific type? Thank YOu!

I don't think the other connection on your drive is necessarily for a printer...it's probably for chaining another SCSI device. The symbol for SCSI looks kind of like a capital G made only of straight lines. Look all over the drive to see if you see that symbol or "SCSI" anywhere.
I use 100MB zip discs because that's what my zip drive reads. There are also 250MB drives/discs, and I'm not sure if the 60 can read these, but I think it can. 100MB at a time should be plenty though. You don't need a specific brand of disc.

ok thanks..so there should only be 1 port on the back then? also, newly made zip disks are ok right? they dont have to be a specific type, like the hd 720 floppy disks do they? thanks

There should be 2 ports. One side says Iomega and the other has a little diamond shaped thing above it. Any Zip disks work aslong as your not trying to use a 250 zip disk in a 100 zip drive.

ok so it will still have 2 ports even if its not parallel? and i see alot of these on ebay, people saying it will work with mpc 2000...if the zip drive works with th 2000 will it work with the 60? thanks again guys

Any of those should work.

But you have to get a different cable cause these don't communicate with the MPC's.

can someone send me a pic of the connection? I was at the thrift shop diggin and they had a box full of drives. I might be able to scoop some up if anyone needs em.

Yeah, sorry. Good catch, although it looks like the cable in the top link is the right one.
And Pound, you can kind of see the SCSI symbol on the pic for the first ebay auction I posted--it's above the right port.
