ACARD AEC-7720U Ultra SCSI-IDE bridge

any 2940 card will do they all use the same drivers

the actual processor that deals with the scsi is

aic78xx

the 2940 card was the one that worked best with hardware samplers

i have had mine since 1998

when i built a new win98 pc which i still use for dos based programs for formating and writing disks for samplers and synths that use dos based systems

as xp cant do it apart from omniflop but omniflop does not format some disks properly

so i still use my win98 pc for this

i have 2 2940 cards the second is in my scope system with my music daw

and i run several racks of scsi hotswap drives cf flash and scsi drives

and i have a couple of mac systems macIICI this has a cf hotswap drive and my protools soundtools dsp card for the EII/EIII sampledumping via smdi to newer samplers and the rs422 to the EII and emax1

and a quadra pci system

both have internal scsi controllers and only have scsi as the harddrive interface

I don't have a win98 desktop with PCI I use mostly laptops now. But I can build one just to flash the cards. What are the other compenents/specs in your system you are using to flash the acards?

It won't happen soon but it is a possibility. I will look for an old win98 desktop in a thrift shop or something.

I've been flashing mine with Windows XP and an Adaptec 2940UW Pro.

At least if you cant not fix it yourself, there will be a last solution with flashing the firmware.

Didnt ask him yet, but I think my buddy Achim in Germany (who updated mine), would proabably do it for you too!?

@jimmie I can do XP at least I have an XP operating disc somewhere

@thecrates I don't have many cards left. I just want to test the rest out and make sure they are seen by the computer and flashed to the latest firmware. They will probably go to @SEED78 so he can get his samplers upgraded. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I won't have a update for 2 weeks from now - have parts on order for a device jHulk is gonna use to speak direct to the isolated chip.

Can anyone tell me how to hook up the power to both the acard and the delock card reader?Will I need a splitter cable from the mpc floppy power connection to both units? Just want to make sure before I plug it in......thanks..

Yes, you need to split the power to both the Acard and the Delock.
