I've got two questions about this...
1) Are the El foils and backlights the same thing?
2) Can you find the backlights elsewhere other than at VST or MPC Stuff, like maybe at mouser or something.

Yes and no. LCD's backlights glow from the el foil, which gets dim over time and needs to be replaced. LED backlights do not take a el foil to work. Therefore they are much brighter and last waaaaay longer...(forever?)
Telesis.com for all your el foils. $30.00 Ive got my s950 and mpc3000 foils from him....

What kind can I use in the MPC? (LCD or LED?)

If you're selling these, you should laminate them to keep them from shorting out or having the crimp connector fall off.
just to clarify, I didn't buy these off Ebay, but whether from Ebay or VST or MPC-stuff the majority of EL backlighting for any industry comes from overseas=similar if not the same quality as anywhere you buy it from.
Could be Chinese...They are the biggest counterfeits...

I am needing to replace the backlights in my MPC60II and S2800 sampler. I am curious of what size the MPC60II foil needs to be cut to, what best to laminate it with and will I need to replace the stock inverter or should any panel work with the stock inverter? Do these use the blue or white backlights? If anybody cares to shed some light it would be much appreciated! Where's the best place to buy the EL foil?
