The manual for MPC3000 Roger Linn OS v3, states that you can put MIDI files on a floppy and swap them between PC and MPC3000.
Vailixi should not be necessary.
How ever, the manual was last updated in 1994.
At that time people would have been using Windows 3.1 as Windows '95 was still in beta.

So, if you're still running an old Windows OS you should be fine.
If your running something more modern - you'll need Vailixi or third party software to make images.
