MPC60 .snd files into the MPC2000xl?

I see that no one has specific answers to my above questions, but I have done some further research anyway.

Regarding the reading of DS/DD floppies in the 2000xl, the manual (for the 2000xl) shows a HD disc when it provides info on loading MPC60 files... The info in this forum SUGGESTS that using DS/DD floppies in the 2000xl works. Still, it'd be good if someone with first-hand experience can provide some info here.

Regarding the copy of files from an MPC60 floppy to computer, then to CF/SD card, I have been talking to the guys at KryoFlux. They have a drive that reads many old formats and makes them readable on a computer. I asked them about copying from floppy to Mac, then to CF/SD card in the right format so it can be read in the 2000xl. Here's the most important bit of info from them;

"There's evidence due to the info on the net that the MPC60 uses
standard MFM formatted (i.e. DOS compatible) 720kb disks. If that is
really the case (we can't be 100% sure until we have a dump of such a
disk) and your CF/SD card solution supports standard disk images
everything should work like you have described, even without using 3rd
party software."

Again, this is inconclusive, but it may provide insight into a Mac solution.

Anyways, I'm copping my 2000xl soon, and I'll let you all know what happens and how I did it.

DS/DD disks can be used by any floppy drive/device that reads HD disks.
The difference is the amount of data that can be written to the disks.

From the MPC60 3.10 manual...

The MPC60 has a built-in 3.5-inch double sided, double density disk
drive for storing data.

...

Each 2DD floppy disk can store up to 793KB of data but not more than 112 separate files.

When new disks are purchased, they are not formatted. Before using the disks, you MUST format each one using option 8 from the DISK menu (Copy,format,other). Disks pre-formatted to MS-DOS 720K format will work, but they will have higher capacity (793K vs. 720K) if you format them again on the MPC60.

File names can be up to 16 characters, and are followed by a period and a three-character extension, which identifies the type of file:

So not exactly the same as a DOS 720kB disk format, larger formatted size, and longer filenames.
