Help with MIDI...Micron + MPC 60

okay so last night I got some dope ish layed down, one sound on the micron, drums and samples on the mpc, then I wanted to lay another different sound from the micron on a different track

this is where I got confused, i don't know how to do this without changing the sound that I had already layed out on the first channel

the sounds that I'm using or want to use in the micron aren't covered in the 128 programs the MPC provides, should I look into how I can change the midi assignments in the Micron? assuming this is the way to do what I want of course.

Look into how to use the micron multitimbrally, and just set a new track in the 60 to another midi channel, make sure the micron midi channel assignments match the mpc track assignment.

man, I'm still having trouble with this, and it's bugging me out.

I want to bang drums on the MPC-----Check
I want to add some "bouncing" keys on the Micron-----Check
I want to add a bassline and or lead on the Micron---no can do
^(the reason I can't do this, is that when I change the sound(program?) on the Micron to select a new sound for the second track of midi, it changes the sound of the first midi track)

my setup is just like you told me to do Elmac, except that I left local on, on the Micron so that I could play the keys and not control the MPC...I'll try local off on the Micron as well and check back online tommorow morning if yall have any ideas.

I think the Micron is 8 parts multitimbral, but the Midi section of the machine seems rather simple...only offering===>Local on/off, multichannel on/off, ext midi sync/midi time clock/off and I think that's it. I have it set to multichannel on so I don't see why I'm so hardheaded about finding this out.

Turn the track to midi and turn soft thru on.

Local off on the micron, to hear the micron, set a track to the midi channel. You need to dig into multimodem, you may have to go to a specific bank to get it workingm and assign a patch to each voice.

Also, for the next voice you'll need to select a different midi channel. 1 for one patch, channel 2 for the next, etc.
