I Don't make beats I make records!!!!! Why do I find myself eqin the shit out of the XL whenever I use it to save time. If i grill up the 3k i need to do little work to get it to sit in the mix.


Don't get me wrong A think the XL is a good machine but next to the 3K.......the 3000 has got some magic goin on.

I will post a beat up here which I hit on the 3K

I think the converters on the 3k sounds grittier than the converters on the XL
I like them better, thats the magic part for me

But i think the magic lies all in one's creativity and their abilities to flip beats up...there ain't no shortcuts to a hot beat. But if you feel that it makes you doper, then whatevers clever...to each his own...

i can't believe some of these people bichin about you can't use this gear or that gear.

do they even listen to hiphop? good hiphop is made on lots of different equipment. mr. pusha is right, it is ALL ON YOU to learn you gear and exploit its features. i have heard many a tight beat made with everything from a 2kxl to the beatboxing homie. if you can manifest what's in your head into a piece of music you can certainly take advantage of any equipment and make use of it.

it seems to me like a lot of people go from one piece of equipment to the next without really exploring its capabilities and learning how to use it to create what you hear deep down inside. they get stuck on some beat and say oh this p.o.s. sucks and quit. but i guess this attitude is good for the ebay folks and what not. get yours, son!

there isn't ONE way to make good music. but you will mos def enjoy that 3k once you finally cop it, (dude whoever started the thread)!

put that negative energy toward diggin' for some ill loops instead!

i like seein kids get all worked up

i found this on gearslutz and some one posted up a 2500 vs 60 swing you can tell witch one is the 60 but swing wise i dont see much of a difference to go running out and changing anything you have. swing was set to 62 percent. listen

But the thing about the "feel" imho is about how it works wit y a. the mpc3000 and 60 are simply more elegant machines. they're less window operated. yak now 2 keys to get to one thing. i like more buttons:-)

the 2kxl does sound really bad. it's the s2k's sampler, just like mpc3000 is the s3000 sampler.. but u all know this shouldn't ahve to say this.

i'ts simply a cheaper drum machine. it's undeniable.

one thing tho i like the 2kxl's sequence mute... i really think that shit's sick... I wish mpc60 and 3000 had this:-( i knwo u can mute tracks but not in a real time fashion like on the newer MPCs
