I keep getting the following error no matter what program I use to convert to SND files:

The file is internally corrupted and can't be loaded! Its internal type ID doesn't match its 3-letter name extension.

This happens on PGM files as well. I'm using an MPC 60 II w/OS 3.10e and a USB floppy drive with OS 10.4 on a Mac. If anyone has figured this out let me know, it will give you good MPC karma for life.

The program works good for me(I only use it to convert samples, not to make wholde programs). Since the 60 with the new OS can read 3000SND files I did not know that this was a bad advice. I'm sorry if it was.

not bad advice at all, I just was waiting for someone to say somthing that worked. Ive been tried it. It wont work for sample conversion or pgm making it says the internal id is not matching the 3 letter file type. REC IN is the way in bro's

Wait, so you're saying that MPC PGM Maker works for you to take 16-bit wav files from your computer, convert them to SND files and use them in your MPC 60? This is the part of the situation that I can't get functioning.

Anabolic - I do sample through the MPC, otherwise why on earth would I own one. I am talking about trying to get 808 sounds and all that without having to run through another D/A/D conversion.

nah it wont work for pgm making i've tried it different ways etc.

No, I use a 3000, and that works dope. I have converted some waw basstones to SND.files, and that works dope. And then I thought it would work on the 60 with the new OS. But that seems to not work. Strange tho'.

But Roger linn said in some magazine (http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=74532) that the 60 boost some part of the sound on the way in to the sampler, and cut away the same area of sound on the way out. Therefore it may be best to sample all sounds you use on the 60 on the 60.
