if you really think that dre cant make his own beats your fooling yourself.thats like saying that he doesnt know how to use any equipment.that all he does is sit there and tell people what to do.yes others have played instruments on alot of his tracks,it's called collaborating with another artist.dre is a great producer....period.

1 - my main goal I achieved.

2 - What beat did dr Dre make?

//

By firework Tue Oct 23, 2007 12:17 pm
Dre might be a so-called "producer" but he aint no beat maker is all Iam saying. funny once storch left, no more hits. detox? oh yeah that will include work from others..... For a guy that make beats, he sure has alot of people involved in his "beats".....

1 - If i posted a beat, and then told you guys, Mr. A, laid the drums, Mr B found the samples and chopped them up, Mr C came in and live played bass, Mr D dropped live keys and Mr D added some live percussions, did I make the beat?

first of all, just because you read something on wikipedia doesnt make it right.
second-im not trying to get into it with you over dr.dre's credability because truth is,he could care less about either one of us,so why fight over him.
and last-....yo...lol. you just sound real dumb with your last post.thats all im going to say about this.

Yeah that makes you a producer, in the real meaning of the word.

Not a beatmaker.

ps.

That mel-man interview is NUTS.

LMAO -

1 - Dre has discovered and/or used some incredible musicians during his career - Colin Wolfe, Mike Simms, Sean Thomas, T green, Scott Storch, Camara Kamron /// these guys were buried in caves or something? "Discovered"? lol what a crock ----

2 - We learned what was always known, DRE steals credit and Dre uses others to make his so-called "BEATS" and please dont compae him to a composer, that is a slap in the face to real composers, who have to worry about 15 horns in front of thousands LIVE, let alone the rest of the sections.

Yeah it's true, Storch was NOT famous before he hooked up with Dre. Afterwards he became well known. So, that means he got famous off Dre.
What's with the Storch love anyway? You a big Jessica Simpson fan or something? Dude is corny.

so you think you gotta have a lot of shit playing at once to call yourself a composer? thats smart.

Oh snap I just noticed this. Someone who does that in front of an orchestra is called a "conductor". Get your facts straight kid!

A composer is a person who writes music. But in a sense beatmaking is composing I guess, if you are matching up and rearranging different samples (looping a break definitely isn't composing for example).

A producer is someone who supervises the making of a musical recording, and determines the overall sound. Dre would seem to fit into this category from all accounts.

PS I'm not the world's biggest Dre fan or anything, I just don't think there's much use in calling Dre out on a forum I'm sure he doesn't read - and these claims are old news and have already been dismissed by Melman, who said that Dre gave him full credit for everything he did. If he doesn't care then why should we?

I dont like storch to be honest, But I rather see the credit go where it deserves. I know "Dr. Dre" is more of a brand name than him actually "MAKING" music, HIM creating his own melodies, HIM playing instruments etc.
composer, conductor oops my bad bro. I made a error since Dr. Dre is indeed compared to a conductor in other convos.

- Look this is the deal, I dont have a prob with what anyone does, its just funny that as soon as you say the fact statement " Dr. Dre doesnt make his own beats. " people will rush to defend and call him all kind of shit but never say the statement is a lie. so this is easy, the statement is a fact, let go of your ego and repeat after me... "Dr Dre doesnt make his own beats."- I didnt ask what he does instead of, I didnt ask how he makes music, I didnt ask who he uses, I just said a simple statement thats is a fact, now if its a lie thats another story.......

By MPC2060 Wed Oct 24, 2007 1:54 pm
dre doenst write his rhymes, this is a fact, why dont you talk about THAT insted of reading into the rumours that he just lets musicians jam and does no work at all... are you STUPID?

he DOES produce records, and he has musicians jam in the process, its how he does things..
dont be jealous you dont have musicians at your disposal, cause if you did you would probably have some doper bass, doper chorus riffs over your chops and loops and you would have a much better catalogue of beats...

did you not read that whole wikipedia exerpt?
did you not read the mel man interviews?

plus you obviously have a short attention span and practice selective reading...

didnt you read that Suge stole publishing from those who deserved it?
not dre...
and thats one of the reasons that dre left and started aftermath...
