result is an improvement actually (at least on this try, the ghost noises are not as frequent or obvious), but if I crank up that sine bass on solo, I can still make them out.

so I'll be following rohan's investigation with interest

honestly it's not really a major problem on my 60, you can barely make them out when the whole sequence is rolling, but it would still be sweet to figure it out.

cheers

hows the issue? wondering if you figured it out.

I just stumbled upon this thread as I've been trying to troubleshoot a problem of my own on a MPC60II I just bought, yeah what great luck!! Thats eBay for you, great shape...really. I have this problem where ghost notes will play randomly, very faintly, almost like some of the samples in memory are strung together very quickly at a velocity of 1 underneath the actual sample that is playing. I've been using a blank sample(sampled at threshold 0) to hear it best. My problem is also associated with this strange clock noise:

my clock noise thread

It took me hearing the clock noise to notice the faint sample triggers, but I've noticed it's either one or the other, clock noise or faint samples which in my case I believe they relate. I've been in contact with VST and the only insight they have given me so far is that it needs to be looked at, but that it could be the DSP or Voice Chips, in which case the unit is unfixable, so it may not even be worth looking into(their words). Unless of course you were to find a unit to use for parts. Since this problem is occurring to more than one person I'd assume a place like VST has come across it before and would tell me up-front.

Anyway are there any updates to this problem?
