If anyone has trtouble with the ribbon connector, you can just unscrew the vote variation slider board from the chasis and just move it out of the way and get the pads out. Ribbon connectors aren;t always easy, screws are easier. just be careful if you close the lid that the NV board doesn;t get crushed against anything.
