This new os is the way to go. The new copy function makes chopping samples so much faster. And all the new timing correct parameters help alot also. I can also edit my samples while the sequence is running (dream come true!!!!!) This OS is a must have. The compression function adds a new level of grit to samples. Kinda like the sp but with more clarity. I havent even checked all the other functions yet. Looking forward to the next os update.

I love the compression feature, use it a lot! But I don't think it's clearer than (or comparable to) the SP. But it's really great!

One important thing with the compression feature is to leave some extra space at the ending of the sample, because if you trim a regular kick and truncate it, and then compress it, it will be a lot shorter, and may ruin your nice kick. Especially when you do the compression twice (which works well on bass/kicks/lo freq things)

Just like the XL. My friend can't figure out how I resample my stuff on the XL with out having a high pitch sound over the top of it. But he doesn't know that you can't truncate it first. I leave the whole sample alone until I am done resampling it. Maybe I should tell him finally nah!

:? Resampling on the 2000xl was the worst sounding option on that machine in my opinon.....

Just tried to email mansell labs. Had a few questions. 1-I do not have a paypal but i have a checking account. Is that possible for payment? 2-How easy or hard is the installation? never opened a mpc. 3-Is it ok to continue using the 3k with a dead backlight? plan on replacing it soon along with the pads. 4-How long does it take to get to the u.s.? Toledo , Ohio. THANKS

1. Yes you do not need a Paypal account just need a credit card or debit card.
2. Undo the 8 screws on the bottom and the 3 on the back and open her up and take out the old ROM chips and put the new ones in.
3. Yes
4. I believe he ships it Air Mail so like maybe 2-3 days.
