£1200 for an MPC60

i think that the build quality of akai is much better that emu for example. the only issue i had with my 60 was a faulty tact switch and an empty battery. when you open a 60 you can really see they are built to last

my EMUs on the other hand have all sorts of issues, i really wish i could find some spare pads (with switches) for my sp1200.

are those actually that hard to come by? I always wondered what type of sensors were in there to provide the velocity sensitivity.

Those pad switches where made to last, and they can be cleaned so they work as good as new..
You have to open the sp and get at them from the bottom... but I'd advise to get a tech to do it unless you're experienced with this kind of thing.
