i know sample editing while sequence is in play is too much for the 60 hardware to handle but things like

track mute screen
temp to new snd
viewable partitions
fixes in the current 3.1 os, you can work around them but they get annoying.

i know there are some other little things i cant remember..

more card reader firmware

MIDI Clock to all outputs simultaneously
2nd Sequence Button changed to next sequence

Features to lose to make more code space:

SMPTE
2nd Sequence

what is that second sequence for? at first i thought it was to play/mix a second program but since that isnt the case, i render it useless. we already have 99 tracks for the main sequence, no need to mix.

The 2nd Sequence feature allows you to play two sequences at once, ie Seq01 and Seq02 at the same time.

The manual describes this feature being useful if you want to lay your key lines down on one sequence while another sequence plays back (ie Drums)

Great idea, but the second sequence can not be changed during playback!

I love the idea of two independent sequences being played back independently.

I really don't think that an OS update would be able to add this feature as code space is so limited on old kit.

The Concept of tracks and sequences are completely different (excuses the pun).

Tracks are part of a sequence.

Think about it from a DJ's point of view, a sequence in like a record. Where as a track is like a part of the record (bass line, vox...etc)

If you can play one sequences bass and drums while you play a second sequences lead and vox at the same time it's like mixing two records.

Yea i know what you mean, what i meant was why note use another sequence with the added vocal tracks etc, know what i mean? not a big deal.

The point was we can live without it and spare it for code space for other feature! :)

SMPTE was great back in the day, but it's days are gone for this type of thing.

If i was lucky enough to have a 24 track Studer (and be able to afford to maintain it!) SMPTE would be a god send.....................

Though I really wonder how much code space is taken up by the SMPTE feature as the is an OTARI chip in the MPC60, this chip can only have one purpose.....SMPTE.

Other features to lose:

Help: I really like this, but it takes up space. This has been the first feature to go in the other 3rd party OS's
