Weird - sequences reverting to old versions after power off?

I have a strange phenomenon with the MPC 3000 I just aquired recently. Specifically, it "forgets" edits that I made and reverts to a previous versions of sequences after I turn it off.

For example, I work on some sequences, extend one of it from 8 to 16 bars, change the length of a single note in the other one, stuff like that. Sequences are changed and play back accordingly. But later, I switch the unit off, and then on again, and the sequences are back where they were before the edit! Aren't all edits supposed to become permanent in the memory?

Problem with your procedure.

Pretty typical usage of a sequencer.

The sequence memory is not "non-volatile".

So ...

Save edits/changes to disk.

Then reload your saved changes on the next boot.

Thanks, that cleared up a very important aspect of the 3000 for me... somehow I must have misread the manual on this one.
