S3000 disk on MPC3000?

I tried loading a S3000 formatted disk on a MPC3000, & hitting DISK>8 , but I keep getting error messages.

Any ideas?

S3000 v2.0
MPC3000 v3.11 - w/microtech pcd-25b
1gb SandiskCF (tried more than 1)

Dont know.... I got a s3000xl n just installed a internal scsi zip drive and my mpc3000le loads the disk without any problems. My s3000xl i v1.06, dont know if that matters though..... Just goota say the s3000xl is a perfect combo for mpc3000 users. Sampling at 22.5 rate sounds great, its got waveform chopping, the eq section is not in real time, which is perfect because after you eg the sound in memory, it will sound the same when you load the disk in the mpc3000.(Giving you that added sparkle on your sounds in the box since we all wish it had a eq or hi pass filter section) Note, the time strecthing, resampling and other featuers is waaay faster than my mpc 2000xl... I guess im just loving the fact that I can chop a sample up in waveform of s3000xl, pull out the disk, and put it right in the internal zip of mpc3000, load all my chops and get busy----NO COMPTUER NEEDED TO TRANSFER SOUNDS!!.

Check what producer K Def has to say about the mpc3000,s3000 combo before he swithced to software, and peep what he says abou the roger linn sequencers of 60/3000 vs all the other mpcs...

Lookin at both units' menus here (lil diff, not much) noticed both FORMAT/ARRANGE options..

Did a search and found some users dont choose ARRANGE instead - does this matter?

Just took a look at my format scsi section, I see the "arrange" option, I have never selected that, I just always use "format" I just got this thing off ebay a week ago and im loving it.. SAME exact sound engine as the mpc 3000...... My asr 10 is collecting dust at the moment


Try going to -Disk-9-/make scsi hard disk active then select the appropiate scsi id chennel that your card reader is on, hit make active, then try"load s3000 disk"................Im using rohans 3.50 o.s Im not sure if 3.11 has that option..........If not your gonna have to turn your mpc3000 on with the cf card already in the card reader so the mpc can "see" it to make the connection while it boots up(scsi shiit )

What error messages ?

Where the:

S3000/S3200
S3000XL/S3200XL

Same file system on both.

File system is the "S3000" class type.

MPC3000 supports this.

MPC3000 supports the "S1000" class type of file system also.

MPC3000 supports loading of these files via FLOPPY, HARD DISK or CD-ROM.

I have here in my Lab a S3200 and S3200XL.

For the sake of this thread I reverted my MPC3000 back to V3.11.

All my "S3000" class disks load without issue, except for one damaged disk.
I have disks in both formats that load ok.

So.

Have your PCD-25 and CF card connected and powered before you power on the MPC3000.

Remember, the MPC3000 "S1000/S3000" loader supports samples only and not programs or other file types.

With all this in mind...

Anotha thing, as soon as I put the S3000 disk in - 3K no longer "finds SCSI device"

Put MPC formatted CF disk bak in, & it's found

Does the PULSE/SINE/SQUARE "sample" fall in that category ?

Thought maybe that's why, but then the whole "not finding" issue threw me off.

the pulse sine and square samples will not transfer to the mpc3000...... I could be wrong, but the only sounds that show up in the mpc are the samples that i recorded, named, and saved to disk......
