Stiff Pads, Pad Replacement?

Hi guys,

I have a 3K, and have never played any other MPC but the one I own so I really can't compare, but I feel my pads are just too stiff. I can't reach full velocity unless the velocity full button is on, and I don't believe that hitting the 3K so hard is normal, it just can't be. On the other hand, I have had my MPC tested by bruce forat before buying it less then a year ago and the only comment he had was about the screen being a little dim, no word on the pads. In short, will replacing the pads help? is it a complex process?

From all the 3000's I have had they all feel the same the pads are lot stiffer than the other MPC's.

The display on the 3000 is not dim by nature, he needs a new one. I thought this for a while until i ordered a new one from telesis.com, and it is super bright now!

My screen is fine, forat replaced it for me. My problem is with the pads. I understand that the pads are stiffer then on other MPC's, but how stiff is normal? at the mo my MPC is totally unusable unless I go full level, or, hit it with a hammer.

wow, one of the things i did like on the 3000 was the butter and punchy pads. the 2500 i felt had hard pads, with not much bouce to them, but that was just a GC floor model.

But i think the 3000 has nice punchy pads.

Anybody else want to comment on the stiffness of the pads? Basically I just want to know if replacing them will help.

the problem might even be with your pad sensor sheet if you're struggling to get the velocity high, rather than the rubber pads themselves

Yes, I was afraid that might be the issue. But how can one tell? I have seen some people here replacing the pads with good results stiffness-wise...

Im starting to think you and the guy with th gold letters are a couple. Is it that or do you just like me or something you follow me to each page and comment i guess you like boys. I think i need to stay out of the Brook if this is what it breeds. You and your boyfriend with the gold letters need a hobby!

Im often misunderstood so its ok. Once again the 3000 display is darker than alot of the other models. Go compare and see yourself.

As far as pads go there's most likely a pad or sensor issue. It's sounds like you don"t wanna spend that money and your hoping someone says something that will fix your machine, this is not likely when it comes to those pads. Listen, when it comes to those pads its better to just have the machine looked at and fixed by an authorized professional because this is the foundation of your machine. Or, you listen to guys like duke nuke em from the Brook your choice. Glad to help.

I don't mind shelling out for new pads or sensors, but I don't have anything like forat or mpcstuff where I live so I want to make sure that performing this operation on the 3k will do the trick. I would have just taken it over to an mpc expert by now.
