some days things just go bad on you. that was today. im pretty careful but sometimes thing just dont work out. went to put a new backlight in the mpc 60. while i was doing this the lcd display mustve jarred off the board a little because i only had the upper half of the display working. then it turned into a choppier grid with a bunch of lines everywhere. my experience with lcd screens when this sort of thing happens is that its basically unrecoverable. any input on that?

also the backlight didnt work so the inverter is prob shot too.

1) is there any hope at all for the screen? where can a purchase whole new screen/board from?

2) is the backlight's back pink or green? want to make sure before i start figuring its the inverter.

blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

alright, so one of the inverter wires was bad replaced it and backlight is up and running.

display is still messed up. went and got two finger clamps and used some pressure and actually got it visible again. ill have to figure out a way to get those L's on the metal casing to give me enough pressure from the back to bring the full display back. right now im thinking about using some think cardboard under them so theyll have a little bit more pressure and i wont be digging into the board. not really sure what to do yet.

wouldnt it be bad to shim it with metal? i wouldnt want to jump a circuit on the board by doing that. or does that whole case have to make connections with those sections of the board?
ill bet this has happened to a lot of people. man does this suck.

What does the display show at the moment? From what I remember the dark lines disappear if the pressure on the contacts is released for a while. Then I would try to put it back on with not too much of pressure.
