MIDI sample dump removed in OS 3.x ?

but honestly, **** midi sample dump. You can use wav2snd or the MPC editor to import sounds much quicker and reliable than SDS.

The new OS is so easy that the help screens are unecessary. although it would be a cool throwback, like reading a manual can be.

Though I find the MIDI sample dump feature very usefull.. (excpecially with Awave) But its not holding me back from upgrading, hehe

You'll get it done faster qith the MPC editor. use sds for your other pieces.

Roger Linn should strike a deal with Mike and get it bundled with the upgrade!

Dunno 'bout that.. If I want to edit a hihat ( about 20 kb ), via MIDI it just takes about 280 packages and done! The sample is on my pc. When using floppy, you first have to write it to the floppy, then put the floppy in the pc and than copy it to your HD and than you have to convert the sample manually..

MIDI dump and Awave is faster I think.. Its easier for shure!

Mike is the MPC Editor's creator.

SDS is Sample DUmp Standard I think. instead of saying midi sample dump.

That is pretty cool that you can do that in awave. I usually edit my samples before hand on the computer, then pass them to the MPC. If I need to edit something, I just grab the sample in my PC, change it how I want, then bump the disk to the MPC and load it up to either replace or augment the original sample.

Yes, Awave is pretty awesome! You can set Cool edit or Wavelab as your sample editor, so no switching between programs..
