MPC60
Check if the 'Soft Key 1' works ok. (mine does nt)
Hear if it whines (the unit itselfs) The person that has sold me my MPC60 had the TV running (MTV), so I was unable to hear the whining..
Check if the convertors are still noiseless.
Test the 16 pads.

I posted the fix for that whining. Ikke, you haven't tried it yet? Silenced 2 60's so far.
Also the tact switch thing, you can get them from electronics catalogs, but you have to be careful on ordering. If anyone has someone to solder desolder, I can get the part number, but if you are going to a tech, let him do the research.

I'd say that 1000$ is the highest price if the 60's in perfect shape, with top equipment (memory to the fullest, assignable separated outs, etc.)
I'd add that it's worth payin a bit more for a good 60 cause that makes also easier to sell it in case you don't want it anymore.

Exactly the same specs as on my recently acquired MPC60. However, I got mine for 400 euro...

To 100ps: make sure all ins and outs work fine, (8 individuals and stereo out/in ) just ask the guy to sample some sounds and connect it to a mixing desk then play all pads and ask guy to turn on "16 levels"
check if all red led's above the switches light up. If it's a 60, make sure you have 3.10 software and SCSI installed or you end up spending an extra 450$ for that from roger linn's website. Not that it's not worth the cash, but if u don't know, now u know ni...
60 without 3.10 and SCSI max 650$
60 with 3.10 and SCSI max 1000$
3000 max 1900$ (grey) LE is more.
These are mint condition prices... just my opinion.
Check prepal.com for a quote of almost every brand.
To Ikke. You paid a little too much for a standard one that's whining i.m.o.
Mine also whines but it is almost impossible to hear so i think that's normal.
Vorige week zaterdag Zazou gecheckt. Sorry die keet zuigt
, nooit meer. Liever LaRocca maar dan ook alleen op vrijdag.
To pUs: Wow 400 is hella cheap dun! I payed mine 500 with a bad display Foil. Biggin up Elmacaco for the great Wolfgang link! The white one is already installed + shinin' bo bo!

400 Euros, that works out to like 525 or so right? That's pretty good.
Don't feel bad Ikke, I paid top dollar for mine because I wanted it immediately and it was a good one, I don't feel ripped off at all.
Plus, these may be rarer in Europe than in LA and NY, and so command a higher price.

Yes Im aware of that. Though Funky dude lives in the same city as I and the other fellow (cant remeber his name) lives in Sweden ( I guess ) and also paid only 500 (?) for it.. You have to got lucky, I guess.. It was the cheapest one the time beeing and I really wanted him! Dont worry, I dont feel bad! The high price is one more good reason for not selling the unit ever again! I just need to upgrade it and get me an S-6000 ( they go very cheap in Holland ) and Im set for sampling, for around 1500 euro!
