60: seqs wont load in..weird.....

60 I 3.10, brand new floppy drive, disc....

tried to load the .pgm and seqs i was working on last night and now the seqs dont want to load in all of a sudden. on boot it loads .pgm, gets to seq and says 'delete some seq's not enought memory' even though its blank. try load after boot from disk it says 'the files cant load they were made on a newer o.s.'. wtf...they were all made on 3.10. then when i go to disk and try and load them individually i get 'error fb00'. and occasionally damaged disk data.

i ran t he disk recovery and it didnt find any problems. sucks i spent a long time on these sequences and now they are gone. is this a common thing with the 60 to lose data like this? any way to copy 60 floppy data onto pc as backup?

I guess your disk got damaged fataly. If you leave floppies inside the 60 drive for too long, they tend to gather static from it and end up dead next time you turn on your MP. I have lost around 5 beats like this.

Try backing up every single floppy you make at least in another one. And always keep in mind that those old school floppy drives chew disks like mad!

I had the same problem with a NEW disk that never TOUCHED my mpc, so how can it be from letting the disk in it to long?

Google for MPCeditor, but watch out with driverselection when you want to format an floppy.

Dunno about yours, however with mine it has become a rule now. Anyhow, we all know how tricky these drives can be. Also in the 950 too!
