I know in music there are no rules good is what sounds good..but..

Lets say i got a 5 track sequence on my 3k for example.

1. controls sample triggered from s950
2.plays bass from fantom
3.plays hihat on 3k
4.plays snare on 3k
5.plays kicks on 3k

Are there any rules in behavior of shift timing for the tracks?
How do you guys handle it to make it bounce??
i usually only shift the hh and the snare till it sounds good for me but somehow im really unsure if it is right or not or what i can make to let the song get an nice loose feeling that we all like :D

I know that it is even the samples that you chose but this "problem of mine" exist whatever samples i use...lol im starting to think that im too stupid for the 3k^^
Never got those problems with 1k 2kxl Mv...it just began with my 60 and 3k.

so i hope you understand what im trying to tell you guys.

Kind Regards

make sure your sample is looping well, or at least at a good tempo.

play with the swing. usually try to pay attention to where the snare is landing. thats the 2 and 4 beat.

this is what keeps it bouncy.

i always timing correct the snare, the hat and the kick at the same settings, unless i play it live.

the main thing you want to get down is assigning decay to your slider on your high hat, so you can simulate an open hat, closed hat, and also play it with the full level off.

part of the problem with your swing is possibly that you have all your drums at full level. hard to make anything bouncy when all the drums are at full level.

try this:

make a loop with 8th note high hat.

and wherever you wanna put the kick and snare.

then do timing correct, 64%, 1 later, but only apply the changes to high hat kick and snare.

keep your other ish locked at 50, 0.

if you swing your sample, and your drums, it doesnt always work well.

thats always bouncy in my opinion.

just keep playing, I didnt get it right away, but I think the 3000 swing is extremely natural (humanized).
