I have an MPC 3000 and I'm thinking about selling it for a MPC1000. Mostly for the convienence of the PC to MPC file transfer and to use the extra money to buy a new synth.

I don't really care about the design or cheaper 'feel' of the MPC1000 however, my main concern is Sound Quality!!

Is the overall A to D sound conversion noticably better with the 3000? Is the bottom end and high noticably differnent between the two units?

Help me before I make a big mistake.

holla!

That's a really good set of questions. I don't really know. I haven't used a MPC1000 yet. It does look tempting though. But, I kinda think most MPC3000 owners won't move up now, or if they do, they're just adding the MPC1000 not using it as a replacement.

I also assume that the 1000 will have a sound similar to the 2000XL. I may be wrong, but it shouldn't sound exactly like the 3000 that's for sure. Better or worse, I don't know.

Peace.

For computer transfers just use the MPC editor or mac equivalent, the data transfer on the 1000 doesn't seem to work too well and many users here have opted for a cf drive for their computer instead.

I'd keep the 3000, the 1000 has many bugs, and the 3000 ain't that big.

I just answered this same question in the mpc1000 board....
