I was in a state of panic yesterday reading some of the posts on this thread after the majority of the buttons on my mpc stopped working apart from the row that has the tempo-syn , transpose etc. I reseated the main ribbon...nothing.
The solution was to screw EVERYTHING back together before turning the unit on. It was a grounding issue.
Just in case anyone else is flapping around in a state of despair.
Hey everyone, Hey Carl,
It seems that I'm having the same issue but I can't solve it...
I've just bought on Ebay those tact switch because there was my "soft key 1" broken.
So I've decide to change the 4 soft keys, and the
cursor section (left, up, down, right)
When I screw everything back together this is what happen when I plug on the MPC :
-Only the row that has the tempo-sync, transpose, simul seq is functioning.
-Soft Key 1 is now working but weirdly enough now Soft Key 2,3 are not working and Soft Key 4 does the same reaction as if i'm clicking on Soft Key 1.
-If I click on play + play or weird combinaison like play play start + Locate button for exemple, it is directing me again on the row that has the tempo-sync, transpose etc
I've checked multiple times the solders I've done and it seems allright... The ribbon cable seems to work as well, please let me know your opinion and what I could do. Everything was working fine and since i've changed those swich tacts I cannot do anything now
