how to check that scsi is installed on mk1 and full ram??

can anyone tell me the procedure from within OS to check if a mpc 60 mk1 has scsi

&

how to check for sampling time? i.e that max ram is installed.





I'm guessing when the OS starts up if it is 3.1 it should say checking for scsi? Once it is booted up how would I check via the OS (does iomega disk drive have to be installed??)

there is a button called disc or disk then 9 then 4. does it say scsi?


Anything to look out for when purchasing a new mpc 60 mk1?

youd have a board if you opened it up its closest to you in the center of them mpc parallel to the floppy drive
or its disk 9 should be scsi no need for any other button

to check for memory sound 5 and crank the time as high as possible 13 is none 26 is the memory expansion

thanks for the response. i can't ask it to be opened i believe.

so disk 9 and then scsi should be a soft key or what? where will he see the word "scsi" if it is indeed installed?

my bad its like disk 8 and there should be 4 options. i should have checked my mpc before i answered so confidently

Once inside the os disk 8, I see only 2 options, "Copy a floppy" and "Format a floppy".


HOWEVER I do not have a iomega zip disc lying around to connect it to the mpc 60...


is it possible that disk 8 will not show the scsi option if a iomega zip drive is not connected?

ALSO i'm not in front of this mpc 60 so I can't just open it up to see if the marion scsi card is in there




If there is any sure fire way to make/determine if marion scsi board is installed via the OS please let me know.

If the SCSI is important to you, contact Roger Linn Design about the SCSI upgrade and have them put you on the waiting list for the next run of SCSI boards.

It's only been there 2 months. Since 10th March 2009

ive been on there since day one.. get used to the dying breed of dsdd floppies

You can install an internal SCSI Card reader drive if you have the correct one. Contact me when you get SCSI installed and I'll be glad to help you find the drive you need, along with one of our MPC60 internal SCSI drive cable kits.

i would recommend using scsi externally and keeping your floppy drive functional if possible... always better to have 2 options than just one, especially with this old gear... but i guess aesthetics are more important to some people...
