Questions about soldering in a new display, specifically rib

I'm going to be soldering in a new display for my friend's 60

Is there anything to keep in mind when doing this?

I will have to unsolder all the pins of the ribbon cable from the display.

Then solder in those same pins from the ribbon cable to the new display.

Would there be a problem if solder accidentally linked two pads together? I have experience soldering and de soldering BUT I don't have experience at the extremely small level i.e Surface Mount size soldering.

Is there enough space on the numerous pads that the ribbons cables leads goes into where one doesn't have to worry about pads getting connected to one another from the solder?

Yes. Don't short the pads out.

Soldering pins on the 60's LCD is not surface mount soldering. It's technically through hole soldering. Have you looked at the LCD yet?

The pads are large and there's enough solder mask in between them so if you have any experience soldering and can check your work when you are done, then it shouldn't be tough. Just don't put the connector on backward.
