Bring it on the plane or ship it UPS?

I have to bring my MPC3000 from NJ to CA and im wondering if it will do ok in bubble wrap and packaging peanuts in a box on a plane or if I should just send it through UPS or something.

You should buy an extra ticket and put it in its own seat beside you, like Steve Howe does with his Gibson ES 175 vintage guitar.

Get a flight case if you're even thinking of checking it on a flight -- have you ever watched how baggage handlers load a plane? When they throw luggage, more often than not, they miss their target and the bag smacks onto the ground.

I've watched them doing that from sitting on the plane they were loading.

Depending your airport, they'll probably ask you a bunch of "security" questions about what the hell it is if you plan to carry it on the plane.
That happened to me with my 2000XL at Heathrow and Stuttgart.
