I accidently deleted the data on my 250 Zip disk for the MPC 3000. Is there anyway that i can recover the data that was on that disk? has anyone ever had to fix a 250 zip disk before?

scsiforsamplers.com wrote:If it was straight DOS, no problem. But because the MPC uses a proprietary file format, it will be tough. Although Rohan could probably do it or maybe Garth at Chicken Systems here in the US. If you really need that file, I'd call Garth (http://www.chickensys.com) and ask him about recovery.

If you're in the USA, flick Mike Goins at http://www.midicase.com a line.

Don't know about Garth's ability where data recovery is concerned ... He knows a little about sampler file systems though ( having been part of the Translator product development ) so maybe, if you're in the USA; he's another option.

If you're feeling like sending your disk abroad, down to Australia ... sure... I will/should be able to recover the file.

Good luck.

Rohan.

Rohan, I thought Garth was Chicken Systems and he wrote Translator himself. But I don't know that for a fact - maybe he was part of a team. He seems to know the various sampler file structures pretty well, at least to me, who knows very little about that stuff compared to you and Garth.

In your spare time, would you whip me up a utility that will format a CF card for the MPC2000 and put the os on it, like Translator does for the Emsoniq samplers? I'd really appreciate it and I'm sure it wouldn't take you long. I can pay you up to 5 dollars. :D
