Every once in a while a random sample will play. Also I've noticed a missed drum hit or a strange swing for a half a measure.

Anybody experience this?

I have a feeling it may be ram and old operating system. Just a guess but maybe ver. 3.03 has trouble handling 32mb or ram. Yes I removed the old ram board.

I want to upgrade to Rohans os but I'm broke as a joke right now.

Not sure if that's even the problem. Anyone?

Are these glitches happening on longer or shorter samples?

There are later software revisions that you can install which may address this problem.

However, I think you have to upgrade the internal ROM to OS3.11 before you jump to OS3.16.

I'm not sure if OS3.11 is available to download, but you would need to burn the files onto the EEPROMs. OS3.16 is available on the web to download -- http://www.mpc3000.com/updated_os.htm

Good luck!

My MPC has just started doing this recently where it will play a sample randomly. This is a real big problem because it always seems to happen when I'm recording.

Does anyone have any clue about where to look to fix this?

I had the same problem on mine, cleaned the pads and it was gone, might not be the trick for you guys but worked for me.

me too... from times to time. the drum is always an open hat, or it plays at full level one time.
always on separate output ...
