I have the 3.03 os, and I was wondering what the lastest os is? And what do I need to do to install it? Do I need to install a chip?

The last AKAI branded OS is version 3.11.
The latest after market third party OS is at http://www.mansell-labs.com and is called Vailixi 3.50.
Regardless of which upgrade route you choose.
It will be likely that you will need to install new chips in your MPC3000.
MPC3000 machines equipped with OS versions in ROM older than 3.10 often have problems booting a temporary upgrade via floppy.
